Tiramisu Kit Kat
Sounds like every coffee-lovers dream come true, right? At least that is what I thought when I first caught sights of this little chocolate bar sitting on the shelves of local supermarket Coles. As someone who has been weening them self away from their coffee addiction for almost a year (!!), the idea of a Kit Kat with a hint of coffee flavoring sounded absolutely delicious and intriguing.
I popped this bad boy in my trolley rather quickly, needless to say more. At first I was hesitant (Not having coffee for almost a year, I was worried the flavor of it would bring back old habits!), the bar sat in my refrigerator for a couple of days until I finally decided it was time.
Oh how I regretted not trying it earlier. Similar in taste to the dark chocolate Kit Kat which was recently introduced to the shelves, the chocolate bar is rather bitter in taste. Don't get me wrong, for this is not a bad thing at all - at least in my opinion, though I know many might disagree, especially if you are not a fan of tiramisu or coffee.
If you have tried Arnott's espresso martini Tim Tams when they were being sold, which I believe was sometime in 2015? The flavour of this Kit Kat is highly similar, just with a less dense texture.
It is light and airy due to the wafer inside, and contains a nice ratio of coffee to chocolate. A feature I really like about it is that you get a milk chocolate and a white chocolate coating on eat finger; very nice. The white chocolate adds a sweetness that is almost like the creamer or froth in a cuppa, and the regular chocolate balances this out perfectly. It is extremely hard for me to pick any flaws with it, my only wish is that there was more of it!

I feel like this would make an even better treat if it were made into a Kit Kat Chunky. Could you imagine, big chunks of wafer coated in a tiramisu flavored outer shell? Mmm, Nestle, get on it!!
Yum. Something about this bar reminds me of piano keys!
Overall it is not overpowering with coffee, but just enough to leave the lingering taste of the brew in your mouth for a good hour afterwards. Yikes, not something I would recommend to someone who is opposed to a cup of joe!
However, if you are anything like me and loves a good cup of espresso; this might be the chocolate bar for you.
If you are craving your daily coffee fix, but also want a sweet treat, why not head down to your supermarket and try one of these bad boys for yourself and see what you think?
